My favorite quote from Megan & Roman’s beautiful wedding may have come from the bride herself when she was recounting the pep talk she had had with the groom the night before at their rehearsal dinner: “Really, this day is about pictures and pretty flowers!” Ha! The thing is, while obviously photography and florals were important to Megan, I don’t think that’s really what this day was all about for them. Having been in contact with them for almost 18 months now, I know that the most important thing to them is their family. And you could see it in EVERY detail and all of the thought put into this day. From the vintage wedding gown worn by Megan’s grandmother displayed at their reception, to the wedding shoes Megan wore that had originally been worn by Roman’s mother at her wedding. All of the lovingly homemade cakes made by dozens of aunts, friends, and other family members (even the mother of the groom made one!) brought to their reception for each table! The gorgeous display of family heirlooms and wedding photos at their reception celebration is only a tiny picture of how much these two really love their family. And now, they’ve started another chapter of this growing family by coming together and sharing their vows in front of the most important people in their lives. It was a wonderful day, and I couldn’t be more honored to capture two people so completely in love with each other. Congrats, Megan & Roman!
I was lucky enough to photograph some of Megan’s details the day before her wedding, which meant we had lots of time to find some unique places 🙂
I’ve become rather obsessed with ring shots this year, and this is one of my favorites.
We got ready at Megan’s parent’s home in New Sharon. I love when we can be surrounded by friends and family for this part of the day!
She had their wedding date on their cute calendar!
Mom, grandma, sister, and the bride….
Roman & Megan were both giggling and excited right before their first look – I love the anticipation
These two….gah! They were ADORABLE to photograph
Megan was such a gorgeous bride!
The amazing florals by Shelly Sarver Designs – she never disappoints!
These little flower girls were absolutely enamored by Megan. I’m sure she looked like a princess to them!
We headed over to St. Mary’s for their ceremony – I just now noticed that there was someone waiting for us when we arrived 🙂
One of my favorite things during wedding ceremonies is trying to grab a shot of the couple that no one else would have noticed – I call them the stolen moments. This moment on the bottom right was one of those – and I just love it. It’s not a perfectly composed or well lit shot, but I still love it 🙂
Their friends and family showered them with lavender as they exited the church – I’ve been fortunate to have some fabulous exits this year!
This fine gentlemen was the owner of their getaway car – he seemed pleased I wanted to grab a photo of him 🙂
After a private cruise around town, Megan & Roman met me at a nearby park. We grabbed all of these photos in less than 10 mins between sprinkles of rain and some clouds.
“Eeeeek! We’re MARRIED!”
When we arrived at William Penn for their reception in Oskaloosa, we were greeted by some of the cutest details. And might I say, the best usage of engagement photos too! Love that they blew them up nice and big!
I stole Roman & Megan one last time for a few sunset photos – my favorite time of day!
Congrats you two – it was an honor!
