This day was nothing short of perfect! There is nothing more beautiful than when two people aren’t just in love, they are best friends. But what is even better is when they are REALLY in love! That’s Katie & Christian 🙂 It was so wonderful to witness Katie & Christian exchanging their wedding vows in front of so many friends and family, and to see others bless them with encouraging words throughout their day, whether it be during their getting ready moments, the ceremony, or their parents giving some of the most beautiful toasts at their reception. Everything throughout the day just seemlessly pointed again and again to how lovely this couple is and how much their faith is a solid rock for their relationship. What an amazing way to start a marriage!
I could not be more blessed to be a part of their day and to get to know Katie & Christian over this past year! Not only did I have so much fun during the entire time, it was like a photographer’s dream to work with such gorgeous and photogenic people ( I mean really, all of Katie’s sisters and both of their families are just stunning!), not to mention amazing country chic details, and perfect weather! Thanks fo such a great time, and many blessings to you both! ~ Jen
We started their day at Third Reformed Church in Pella. I LOVE this church!
The gorgeous florals were provided by Thistles, and they were perfect for their fall wedding!
A moment with her mom, Deb. If ever there was a bride who embraced the moments of the day, it was Katie. She was always giving hugs, holding hands, and wasn’t afraid to just soak it all in.
She did a daddy daughter first look too! I loved this.
We then headed over to Central College, where Katie & Christian met, for their first look…the light couldn’t have been more perfect!
And….they exchanged hand written letters. I mean, how sweet is THAT!?!
Then, it was picture time, and I kid you not…we did all of these photos of the two of them in about 5 minutes. They were THAT easy!
My view….
My wonderful second shooter’s view:
Remember what I said about Katie and her sisters? Love this one!
And guess which two are brothers? (There’s actually 4 of them if I remember correctly…)
Back to the church for the ceremony! It’s getting married time!
Wahoo!
Their getaway car was an antique car…that stopped about halfway to the reception! Ha!
A quiet moment with just the two of them…
I absolutely LOVE this one! It’s so them! Boots and all.
Another favorite!
Then it was back over to Central to the Graham Conference Center for their reception. Now, when Katie told me they were going for a country vibe with burlap and mason jars, I was expecting something I’d seen before. But she totally blew me out of the water with their amazing farm table, antique chairs and lights, and TREES!
Let’s eat cake!
Katie & Christian spent the rest of their time in each other’s arms, dancing the night away, soaking in the moment just like they had all day. It was perfect.
Congrats!
