Sneak Peek: Olivia

grinnell high school senior

I still can’t believe that this senior shoot took place in JANUARY!  We’ve had a ridiculous winter thus far with unseasonably warm temperatures in the 50s, so even though this was a “late” senior session in terms of time of year, it worked out perfectly!

For seniors in the class of 2012, I have a limited number of sessions available this spring, so be sure to get in touch to book your session!

Megan

You saw the sneak peek of Megan’s session waaaaaaaay back here, now here’s the rest of her fun session down in Montezuma!

I absolutely LOVE when seniors show some personality and totally go for it in their session.  Even better? The fact that Megan chose this for her wallets:-)

WE found this dingy old fridge behind a building – it says “works great, just ugly” – ha!  Funny thing is that these types of refrigerators are coming back IN style:-)

Good luck during your senior year!  And thanks for a fun time:-)

Lily

You saw a preview of Lily’s senior portrait session here, now here’s the rest!

We started off at Grinnell Heritage Farm…

I’m in love with this red dress – so cute!

We ended the session downtown, just as the sun was setting.  This is by far one of my favorite pictures from this year!

Lily – thanks for such an awesome session!  You have the best style, and it was so fun to capture you on camera.  I hope you have an awesome senior year, and good luck!

Fall Family Photography

Seeing as it’s freezing cold and wintery outside, it’s kind of like taking a virtual vacation to go back to this beautiful fall family session!  Sara & Matt – thanks for contacting me last minute!  I’m glad we could squeeze this session in, and it was a joy to celebrate your son’s christening.

Sara & Matt just recently moved to Grinnell, and so we grabbed a nice family shot on the front steps – my favorite from this session!

A family friend made this beautiful christening gown for their son.  The light was gorgeous outside, and the setting makes me feel like I’m stepping back in time every time I look at these portraits.

Welcome to Grinnell, Sara & Matt!

Avery

I’m continuing  to blog senior sessions from this fall – October was a busy time for me!

Avery’s session was actually a two-part session.  Part one involved a family heirloom of sorts – this classic corvette convertible!  Even though the sky broke out in a torrential downpour just as we were pulling up to our location for the session, we were able to get some amazing shots after the rain passed.  For any guy wondering if the two hour session is worth it, it definitely is!  Incorporate props, multiple locations, and other creative ideas; that’s how you get the personalized look for your senior portraits!

Avery’s mom suggested this location that I hadn’t seen before, and I love how it turned out!

Part two of Avery’s session was an early morning, right before school.  We headed out to the train tracks, and then into town at some urban locations in Grinnell.

Avery, thanks for a great time!  I’m so glad you love your portraits.  :-)

Sweet shots with the car! And did you use a filter for some of the photos? I love the look it gives them :) Especially on the first one!
